“Grandchildren are the crown of grandparents, And parents are the glory of their children.” Proverbs 17:6 What a wonderful day we had celebrating and sharing time with our grandparents and special friends. Beginning with the celebration of the Mass, Fr. Dave reminded us of the special place these wonderful people have in our lives. Students and grandparents alike enjoyed the doughnuts and refreshments provided by our PTO. The gym was adorned with heartfelt messages on placements reminding our grandparents they are a gift from God. Teachers welcomed grandparents to their rooms where students proudly shared their accomplishments. The blessings of this day are too numerous to count and we are so happy to be able to celebrate these special people in our school family. Parent/Teacher Conferences The first quarter of the school year ends Friday, October 13th. Report cards will be sent home on Friday, October 20th. Parent Teacher Conferences

“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.” St. Francis of Assisi Fall is here! Now that the weather is beginning to change, we ask that all students are following the “Regular School Dress Code” as found in the Family Handbook. I would like to highlight a few items of which we ask all students and families to make special note: SWEATERS Red, white, or black sweaters—cardigan, vest, or pullover. The ONLY sweatshirt/fleece that may be worn are the “official” St. Benedict embroidered styles. SOCKS Solid red, black or white knee socks, tights, leggings, anklets are permitted. “This is the day the Lord has made;  Let us rejoice in it and be glad.”                                                            Psalm 118:24                                                                                                       MANY THANKS Tuesday, September 19 was a gloomy, rainy day but there was plenty of SUNSHINE as we witnessed the dedication and blessing of the homes for our new neighbors.  The prayers of our students were heard as the rain subsided just long enough for the ceremony and dismissal to take place. Our National Junior Honor Society helped lead the opening prayer and escort Bishop Daniel Thomas on the tour of the Sunshine home following the ceremony.  As the residents turned the corner to enter their home, they were welcomed with a huge banner and the sound of a blessing song from all the members of our student body.  Their new rooms inside were easily found by the student decorated name slates hanging on each door. While St. Benedict School played

“…let those who boast, boast in this, that they understand and know me, that I am the Lord…”                                                                                                                                                                    Jeremiah 9:23 Thanks to all the families who have returned to school the requested beginning of the year forms.  If you have not yet done so, please return them as soon as possible. State and Federal Programs St. Benedict Catholic School (as well as other non-public schools in the state of Ohio) has access to some state and federal funding for educational programs for our students.  Though the funding is limited, it provides us opportunities like our wonderful school nurse, counselor, speech therapist and intervention specialist as well as Title I tutors that we otherwise would not have. The formula for funding requires an accurate account of low income family eligibility.  While we recognize this as being very sensitive, it truly benefits the entire school population.  We pledge to keep
